WHY WE’RE HERE

Anduril develops mission autonomy for unmanned systems across multiple domains to enable execution of complex ISR and strike missions with coordinated kinetic effects in denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments. Engineering teams advance the next generation of software-defined unmanned systems leveraging technologies and tools for edge computing, secure communications, fleet management, perception and planning (computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, state estimation), and more.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In order to coordinate teams of modern autonomous vehicles, mesh-networking software capable of passing messages across a variety of protocols, transport layers, and communications modalities is paramount. Networking Software Engineers are responsible for the development of Anduril’s core networking technology, and its application to specific combat systems and operational environments. In this role, you will:

  • Design, implement, and deploy networking solutions at all layers
  • Develop, optimize, and support software to manage networking hardware
  • Work directly with customers and product teams to identify network designs and features necessary to achieve mission success.
  • Develop instrumentation for networking performance and improve system efficacy.
  • Create diagnostic, testing, simulation tools, and implement system level network testing
  • Develop networking simulation software for modelling real world networking constraints
  • Debug issues at all layers of the stack from low level kernel bugs to cloud networking issues

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of production-grade Rust and/or C++ experience in a Linux development environment
  • Interest and development experience in communications and networking of distributed systems
  • Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
  • A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be willing to travel for test field events up to 25%
  • Experience with RF communications payloads (VHF/UHF, SATCOM, etc...)
  • Experience developing the the Linux Kernel networking stack.
  • Experience with existing networking middleware (eg. DDS, ROS, MQTT)
  • Experience with software engineering on robotics systems.
  • Experience working in systems with hard determinism requirements
  • Experience with networking protocols and technologies, including:
    • Secure communication protocols - IPSec / MACSec
    • Software-Defined Networking / SD-WANs
    • Internet protocols - TCP/IP, DNS, etc.
    • Routing protocols (small and large scale - e.g. mesh routing as well as internet-scale routing across autonomous systems)
US Salary Range$138,000$252,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
