POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Corporate Compliance Senior Manager provides support for all aspects of corporate compliance and ethics including but not limited to regulatory change management, risk assessment, corporate compliance, and ethics, OFAC and AML, policy governance and projects related to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. The individual will have strong working relationships with senior leaders throughout various divisions, business units and functional departments. The individual must have compliance program experience along with a firm understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory bodies and compliance requirements and risks. The position requires an individual with a proactive and risk-based approach and ability to continually enhance the corporate compliance program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Corporate Compliance:

  • Assist with corporate compliance risk assessment including maintaining and updating inventory of key corporate compliance controls
  • Review and monitor effectiveness of corporate compliance programs 
  • Analyze non-compliance to identify improvement opportunities

Corporate Compliance and Ethics:

  • Assist with Kemper corporate compliance and ethics program, including policies, procedures, systems, metrics, and controls to monitor and manage various related areas of focus
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the business and key stakeholders on relevant corporate compliance laws and best practices, policies, and other applicable rules and guidance
  • Help promote an enhanced “culture of compliance” that encourages ethical conduct and commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Policy Governance:

  • Develop and manage corporate and operational policy governance framework
  • Lead oversight of a policy governance framework which includes a process for the development, review, and update of enterprise policies
  • Develop, oversee, and maintain "policy and procedure library" as a repository for all current policy and procedure documents

Office of Foreign Assets Control and Anti-Money Laundering (AML):

  • Manage the Company’s compliance program with OFAC sanctions and AML laws/regulations and adherence to applicable laws and industry standards including training, LOB collaboration, documentation and reporting
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate OFAC and AML related risks
  • Investigate potential sanctions matches and suspicious activity, ensuring proper documentation and timely reporting of any required Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or other regulatory

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business
  • Preferred 5 to 7 years corporate compliance experience; preferably insurance or financial services corporate or regulatory compliance
  • Superior level of expertise in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and any additional programs needed to be effective in the position
  • Project/Change Management experience that involves coordination of cross-discipline teams
  • Proven analytical, organizational and communication skills for designed business solution and interaction with internal/external business partners
  • Ability to think independently with solid judgement and the ability to honestly and respectfully communicate ideas and differing opinions related to day-to-day workflow and processes
  • Ability to multi-task and operate accurately and effectively in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment

  • The range for this position is $95,900 to $159,700. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
