Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Credit Products Pricing team, this position provides strategic leadership to develop and execute pricing strategies, monitor competitive movement, document billing practices, and help maintain compliance with applicable internal and external requirements. This role supports all Synchrony Financial platforms and will interact with all departments.  The primary focus of this position will be installment loans, but will support other products as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying areas of opportunity within the pricing framework to drive revenue.

  • Partner with competitive intelligence team to understand billing practices in market.

  • Partner with surveillance teams to ensure adequate governance and controls.

  • Develop a firm understanding of regulations/laws pertaining to SYF products and specifically installment loans.

  • Develop and present recommendations to the Pricing Sub Committee, senior management, product owners, and platforms/portfolios (includes analysis and development of ideas/presentations) as needed.

  • Develop and maintain documentation of billing practices and pricing guidelines specific to installment loans.

  • Gain working knowledge of available system settings (Fiserv, Vision+, DACS, others) and use it to drive optimization and standardization across products.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams including IT, Client teams, Marketing, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Collections.

  • Represent Credit Products Pricing as a subject matter expert on cross functional projects and initiatives.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, analytics, or technical field or in lieu of degree, a High School Diploma / GED and 8 years equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in credit product pricing.

  • Minimum 5 years of financial services experience.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Leadership experience in consumer financial services with exposure to a credit card or retail environment.

  • Strong experience in data analysis and proven ability to summarize large amounts of data into simple inferences.

  • Process and project management skills with successful experience influencing and leading cross functional teams.

  • Solid leadership, communication and relationship building skills with proven ability to obtain buy-in on concepts/ideas.

  • Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, develop new tactics and address implementation obstacles.

  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop appropriate action plans and deliver the results timely.

  • Ability to independently lead projects and assignments.

  • Ability to develop financial projections.

  • Strong project management skills

Grade/Level: 12

                                                        

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees mus
