Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking a Facilities Specialist to join the Maintenance Team for the new Golden Triangle Polymers facility located in Orange, TX that will be operated by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up. This position will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.

 

The Facilities Specialist is responsible for evaluating and managing buildings and systems and ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of facilities by coordinating maintenance programs and resolving issues. This role serves as a key communications conduit across the facility to advance facility objectives and initiatives. Initially, this position will be focused on Operational Readiness, ensuring the plant is properly commissioned and supporting a safe, orderly, and timely start-up. Following start-up, the job functions will transition to a more traditional role characterized by normal plant operations.  #HPCP

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that facility operations, including janitorial, building and grounds maintenance, general maintenance of non-process areas, and interfaces with the neighboring community, are implemented in a manner consistent with Company policies.
  • Assist in responding to governmental, stakeholder, and community inquiries regarding easements, rights-of-way, permits, traffic control, and other issues by providing timely and accurate information that facilitates leadership decision making.
  • Evaluate building infrastructure conditions to prioritize, plan, and manage improvement projects to include building systems (mechanical, electrical, life safety, roofing, elevator systems, etc.).
  • Develop capital and expense budgets for the property, including long-term maintenance plans, facility improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Supervise maintenance programs relating to interior and exterior property conditions (lawn, housekeeping, laydown, detention ponds, canal, etc.).
  • Manage non-process facility operations and maintenance activities, including development of planned maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Develop and manage building operational requirements (temperature control, lighting, equipment replacement, etc.) with a focus on environmental stewardship, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage facility vehicle program (trucks, vans, side by sides, cranes, JLGs, etc.).
  • Develop and implement comprehensive real estate plans to optimize land use, manage real estate assets, and execute demolition strategies in alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate options for future property development, assist in resolving tax issues, and maintain a repository for floodplain analysis and geotechnical reports.
  • Coordinate essential central services and oversee space allocation for new buildings and existing premises, to include collection, analysis and reporting of facility management data.
  • Manage facilities logistics related to emergency preparedness, parking, and support services for events and projects.
