We are seeking a skilled Technician in Integration Engineering who will leverage their technical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and efficient human spaceflight. This role involves setting up production areas, operating precision tools, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to support our mission of safe space exploration. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize any potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing. 

  • Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) and precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards. 

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity. 

  • Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed. 

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency. 

  • Tasks involve preparing and testing payload systems and hardware by applying materials, conducting painting, sealing, composite layup, repairs, testing, and assisting with vehicle assembly and installation. 

Team Focus & Domain Expertise 

The Tanks Production team at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components through cutting-edge Friction Stir welding and advanced assembly methods. As part of a large, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will manufacture, assemble, and test hardware on the first and second stage

of our premier launch vehicle, New Glenn. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of transforming the way our tanks are made and integrated. If you share our passions and vision, thrive in a dynamic production environment, excel on integrated cross-functional teams, are experienced and skilled in several relevant technologies look no further. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Experience Levels with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another related field.

  • 0-3 years Level I Technician

  • 3+ Level II Technician

  • 5+ Level III Technician

  • 8+ SR Level Technician

  • years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another related field. 

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Precision hole drilling with tight tolerances, structural integration and assembly, mechanical assembly, confined space work, overhead crane operation or experience working around overhead operations, wire harness routing and connector mate de-mate, precision measuring equipment, basic hand tools and power feed drills.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
