As a reflection of our current needs and planned growth we are very pleased to offer a new opportunity to join our dedicated team as a SQL Database Administrator II. This role is responsible for performing SQL Server administration and managing SQL Server databases.
Responsibilities
As a SQL Database Administrator II, you will be responsible for:
- Perform SQL Server administration and handle migration and upgrade projects for SQL Server 2014/2016/2017/2019 database systems.
- Manage SQL Server databases in various lifecycle environments, development to mission-critical production systems.
- Participate in database code reviews and provide performance, security, and design recommendations.
- Database deployments and adhering to defined change control procedures.
- Develop solutions to automate DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS etc., to standardize DBA Processes and implement proactive monitoring.
- Review performance bottlenecks and implement query tuning to improve performance and scalability of the application processes.
- Work with infrastructure and applications teams during project planning, implementation, and rollout phases.
- Monitor using native and 3rd party tools to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security of database systems.
- Implement and monitor database backup and recovery procedures, handle database patching and implement of database security policies and best practices.
- Proactively monitor and setup required alerts.
- Determine the most effective way to improve performance of DB Servers including server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field and 3 years working as a Database Administrator or related title. Experience must include:
- 3 years with SQL Server Always On and Failover clusters for high-availability and disaster recovery
- 3 years using T-SQL and PowerShell to automate SQL administration functions.
- 3 years developing solutions to automate database administration tasks using PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS to standardize processes and implement proactive monitoring.
Compensation: $131,183.61/year
