Position Overview:
On Location is seeking passionate and motivated Interns to join our LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games internship program in Los Angeles. This dynamic opportunity offers rising third- and fourth-year university students hands-on learning in premium hospitality and international sports event management. Interns will engage with industry professionals and contribute directly to real-time projects that are integral to delivering world-class experiences for the LA28 Games.
This internship program provides an exciting pathway into global event management and hospitality. Interns will be embedded in key functional teams and gain firsthand experience in hospitality operations, marketing communications, event planning, and more. The internship culminates in a capstone project, challenging participants to develop a full premium hospitality experience, integrating budgeting, marketing, guest journey design, and alignment with the Olympic and Paralympic spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Event Operations: Assist with various event planning and logistical tasks, contributing to the operational readiness of On Location’s offerings for the LA28 Games.
Client & Vendor Coordination: Aid in managing client relationships and supporting coordination efforts with vendors and partners to ensure seamless delivery of premium experiences.
Hospitality & Experience Design: Collaborate with teams to craft unique guest experiences that align with LA28’s cultural values, Olympic spirit, and On Location’s high standards of quality.
Market Research & Analysis: Support research on Olympic trends, competitor offerings, and new opportunities to enhance the overall LA28 experience.
Project Development & Execution: Participate in dynamic, cross-functional projects that encompass marketing, planning, operations, and client service.
Capstone Project Participation: Develop and present a comprehensive premium hospitality experience concept, integrating elements such as guest experience design, itinerary development, and budgeting. This will be a collaborative, portfolio-ready project that combines strategic creativity with practical execution.
Required Qualifications:
Current enrollment as a rising third- or fourth-year student at an accredited university, ideally in Sports Management, Hospitality, Event Planning, Marketing, or related fields.
A strong passion for sports, large-scale events, hospitality, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Available for full-time participation during the summer internship period (approximately 40 hours per week).
A strong desire to contribute meaningfully to a global event and gain experience in the sports and event management industry.
Preferred Experience:
Previous internship, volunteer work, or coursework in event planning, hospitality, or sports management.
Knowledge of Olympic history, values, and cultural significance.
Familiarity with digital marketing, social media campaigns, or guest communications.
Work Environment:
This is an in-person internship based in Los Angeles, CA, with potential occasional travel based on event needs.
Hybrid work options may be available, depending on team and department needs.
