SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the chief executive officer, recruits, hires and orients new employees and performs other human resource functions. Maintains knowledge of employment laws. Works with supervisors on disciplinary actions and terminations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Treats all applicants, candidates, employees, residents and visitors with respect.
- Have an open-door policy, be accessible most of the time.
- A trusted part of the team and help as needed.
- Participates in the Morale Committee, Safety Committee, Manager’s meeting, QAPI, and other meetings as they arise.
- Ability to use a computer, specifically, Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Recruits new employees as needed. Schedules and interviews candidates to obtain work history, job skills and other relevant information related to job requirements. Provides candidates with information regarding facilities, operations, benefits and other information about the organization. Conducts reference and background checks as required. Administers appropriate work-related assessments. Hires candidates or recommends candidates to appropriate supervisor. Maintains records related to applicants and position openings.
- Classifies job positions to determine non-exempt/exempt status. Maintains records of tools and resources to validate job classification/description.
- Maintains confidentiality of employee records and activities.
- Responsible for Corporate Compliance and the Corporate Compliance hotline. Files quarterly compliance checks on employees and vendors with Peace Church.
- Assists supervisors in carrying out their responsibilities related to Human Resources. Assists supervisor in counseling employees when policy or procedure infractions occur. Helps resolve conflict as it occurs.
- Updates job descriptions regularly.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with other management staff, employees, residents, and the public.
- Maintains a working knowledge of updates to employment laws.
- Understands how state and federal CCRC regulations affect employees and residents on our campuses.
- Benefit Administrator. Understand benefits offered by Bethany Village. Assist employees with any benefit questions or concerns. Assist as needed with benefit enrollment.
- Responsible for Worker’s Compensation. File work comp claims promptly after any incident. Work with the safety committee in assessing possible hazards in the workplace. Keep in contact with injured workers and work comp insurance adjuster, if one is assigned. Find appropriate light duty work in accordance with doctor’s orders.
- File OSHA 300 and 300A and 301. Hang OSHA 300A in visible areas.
- Responsible for filing all annual employment law forms, such as EEO-1, Vets 4212, Affirmative Action plan and others as required by law.
- Makes employees aware of training pertinent to their department. Keep track of certification and license outdates. Enroll CMAs in CMA updates. Post current certification and license dates in Paycom.
