People Incorporated is looking for a detail oriented Accounting Coordinator to work in support of the management and and business operations of the Agency in collaboration with all Agency programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Post cash receipts, cash disbursements, and accounts payable batches.
  • Prepare and submit monthly billing for programs, including unit-rate programs.
  • Process payment applications in electronic accounts receivable system.
  • Prepare daily cash analysis and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and enter standard monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare reports and/or account analysis as needed, such as overtime reports.
  • Reconcile approved purchase orders with vendor invoices.
  • Code vendor invoices as to expense account and department and prepare payment vouchers.
  • Enter payment vouchers into electronic accounts payable system on daily basis.
  • Generate check preview report for review, and print and remit accounts payable checks weekly.
  • Prepare direct disbursement checks as needed.
  • Control petty cash disbursements for all divisions.
  • Enter bank deposits and electronic cash receipts daily into the electronic cash manager system.
  • Process client food stamp payments monthly.
  • Support payroll function.
  • Maintain alphabetical vendor files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President and CFO
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Maintain all program and Agency-required trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in accounting and/or payroll or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skill in performing full-charge bookkeeping/accounting functions.
  • Payroll experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows-based general ledger software, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate and work with others.
  • A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license are required.
