University of Iowa Health Care presents an opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to join our team. We are seeking a full time Assistant Nurse Manager for Main Operating Room at our North Liberty Campus. The Assistant Nurse Manager will provide managerial and clinical leadership to assure that all staff provide safe clinical care and have the education, methods and resources to accomplish their performance objectives.

Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: Primarily day shift M-F between the hours of 0645-1515.  Extension of shift and call per unit needs.  Possible weekends and holidays per unit needs.
Location: North Liberty Campus

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire. 
  • Must have Orthopedic experience.
  • 1+ years of nursing experience with demonstrated skills in leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications (such as Microsoft programs)
  • Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other hospital departments.
  • Demonstrates effective teaching skills for staff and patient education.
