Role Summary:
The Manager, People Business Partner will support our Saks Saks Global Distribution Center (DC) teams based in Pottsville, PA In this role, the Manager, People Business Partner will lead the development and execution of People Initiatives with a strong focus on recruitment, employee relations and talent management, in partnership with the broader People team.
Role Description:
Serve as the lead People Partner to the Pottsville employee population and manage the implementation of People processes and initiatives for employees at the location
Oversee timely and compliant execution of employee lifecycle events
Provide counsel to leaders on employee relations and demonstrate an understanding of HR Process and Employment Law
Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage the recruitment process for open roles
Drive org effectiveness by aligning talent, structure and culture to evolving DC needs
Oversee new hire onboarding and orientation planning and execution, ensuring a positive new hire experience
Manage confidential employee documentation related to role changes, including but not limited to salary, reporting structure, position changes, and other internal offer letters
Investigate and support resolution of employee relations in partnership with our Sr. Labor & Employment Counsel
Support the execution of employee engagement activities for the employee population
Liaise with partners on the People team to manage general reporting and data requests
Support People-led initiatives throughout the year, including but not limited to: compensation adjustments, annual talent review, goal setting, and engagement survey
Participate in and/or lead task forces and special projects
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally with specialization in Human Resources or a Business Management-related field
5+ years of progressive professional and business experience, particularly within Human Resources or Talent Acquisition
Bilingual; Ability to speak and understand Spanish required
Proficiency within Microsoft Office and Google Suite (i.e. Google Calendar, Email, Sheets, Docs, Excel, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication; this individual will be expected to effectively write policies, emails, investigations notes, disciplinary warnings
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong ability to multitask
Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability and desire to work within a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
Experience supporting a Fulfillment Center population
Previous experience utilizing Workday as an HRIS
