General Summary:

This role is responsible for initiating, developing and owning prioritized national distribution partner relationships at a corporate level as well as driving meaningful operational and local office connectivity. These partners consist of those with high profile relationships, and/or high growth potential, likely complex operational needs across business segments and require frequent communication to or interaction with Colonial Life leadership.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build strong credibility and relationships with alliance partners, at a corporate, regional or local leadership level as well as the internal sales force and across the organization.
  • Plan and drive activities that lead to profitable sales growth and retention for assigned partner organizations.
  • Own annual growth strategies for each assigned partner that aligns with overall Colonial Life goals. Be responsible for driving the development of key partner relationships through the following tactics:
    • Develop annual business plans in conjunction with internal Colonial Life sales and partner leadership.
    • Participate in delivery of initiatives (e.g. develop/deliver presentations at partner events such as trainings, corporate stewardship, results, trends, etc.)
    • Identify and initiate specific growth plans for mutually identified local firm locations to include training, contests, presentations, etc.
    • Assist in local firm development through field visits and as needed.
  • Assist in the on-boarding of new partners (compensation, marketing agreements, etc.)
  • Prepare marketing and sales materials and presentations.
  • Provide priority Colonial Life updates to partner leadership on an ongoing basis (e.g. financial results, key leadership changes, product development launches, strategic initiatives, etc.).
  • Develop and deliver regular partner production reporting, progress against plan, and develop action plans to ensure results are achieved.
  • Coordinate and attend regular partner relationship meetings including those that require stand and deliver presentations on various Colonial Life topics.
  • Facilitate resolution of issues that have been escalated to partner leadership.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job Specifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales support or management of brokers or large clients
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Colonial Life business processes, enrollment technology, products and services from end to end (i.e. benefits communication, enrollment options, billing and service capabilities) is preferred.
  • Proven credibility with sales organization and brokerage distribution
  • Proven ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Significant sales or sales support and customer service experience
  • Ability to exhibit full understanding of the Colonial Life value proposition to potentially large and high-profile audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels in the company including senior leadership
