Summary
This position's primary responsibility is to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the City's park restrooms ensuring that park restrooms are welcoming, functional, and safe for all visitors. The incumbent will play a vital role in upholding the City's commitment to providing exceptional park amenities and enhancing the overall park experience.
This position requires weekends.
Pay Range: $9.00 - $13.50 (Depending on qualifications or experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleaning and Sanitization: Implementing a rigorous cleaning regimen to ensure that park restrooms are consistently clean, hygienic, and odor-free.
This involves regularly cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, fixtures, and restroom amenities.
Maintenance and Repairs: Identifying, reporting, and addressing issues related to restroom fixtures, plumbing, lighting, and infrastructure elements. Coordinating timely repairs and maintenance to ensure facilities are in excellent working order.
Supply Management: Managing restroom supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and other essentials.
Ensuring supplies are well-stocked and readily available to meet visitor needs.
Regular Inspections: Conducting routine inspections to identify potential hazards, safety concerns, or maintenance requirements.
Proactively addressing issues to prevent accidents or discomfort for parkgoers.
Emergency Preparedness: Being prepared to respond to emergencies or unexpected incidents promptly and effectively, such as plumbing failures, vandalism, or adverse weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
No experience required
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job's essential functions.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
Up to 1 year experience in custodial work.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of basic custodial procedures, common hand tools, and janitorial equipment.
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to pick up litter and debris, clean playgrounds, and generally police all park recreational areas and facilities
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The incumbent works with frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. The majority of work is performed outside or with risk exposure. May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold, rain, humidity, wetness, insects, noxious odors, fumes, and physical stress from exertion and lifting. Exposed to physical exertion such as bending, lifting, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
