Full Visibility is seeking a Data Engineer (SME) to work in Huntsville, AL. Candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance.

The Data Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be responsible for engineering in support of an advanced visual analytic application that includes developing data analytics for desktop and web-developed visual analytic software, facilitating the bulk analysis of relational information utilizing advanced graphics, visualization, and high-performance computing, as well as using the specified open source, COTS, and GOTS technologies. The Data Engineer will establish an application that produces manageable, actionable intelligence from streams of structured and semi-structured data; design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security; design and construct large relational databases; and integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality. The successful candidate will provide technical and management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments and establish goals and plans that meet project objectives.

The Subject Matter Expert will be an individual whose qualifications and expertise are exceptional and highly unique, with domain and expert technical knowledge. The SME will initiate, supervise, and develop requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex and extremely complex programs. The SME will also provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff; and provide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and maintenance efforts for critical challenges and issues. The successful candidate will consult with clients to define requirements or identify gaps, supervise studies, and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend innovative solutions.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

Active Top Secret Clearance
At least ten (10+) years of experience providing data engineering or related work
Experience maintaining an Apache Hadoop Ecosystem, using tools like HBase, MapReduce, and Spark
Knowledge of ETL processes utilizing Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, and Apache Airflow
Experience with AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, EMR, KMS, SQS, SNS, and Systems Manager
Experience in supporting, maintaining, and migrating JavaFX applications to modern cloud-native solutions
Robust decision-making skills and domain knowledge
