Job Duties

Directly manages the process of scheduling and administering examinations for the agency occupations and professions. Determines candidate needs and assists them in preparation for license/certification examination in accordance with established policies and procedures. Prepares and organizes materials for examination administration. Independently serves as chief proctor and/or performs audits at examination sites throughout Virginia. Administers and provides the appropriate examination services to diverse groups effectively and professionally. Maintains security of all exam materials to prevent any breach and to assure exam integrity. Accurately scores examinations and enters results into the agency examination database for proper licensing and certification of candidates. Communicates accurate information to examination candidates efficiently and effectively. Responds to inquiries concerning examination procedures and policies. Frequently interacts with management, board staff, and examination vendors nationwide. Serve as departmental staff, agency technology staff, and third-party vendors. Prepare statistical data for public sector, private sector, and professional board meetings. Maintain a vendor issue log as part of assisting with contract administration. Work with Exam Vendors to provide board staff, finance, and IT with accurate data files and functional reporting tools.

Minimum Qualifications

Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to organize workloads and meet deadlines
Knowledge of the regulatory environment and process
Ability to travel (sometimes overnight)
Ability to deal effectively with diverse groups of people
Ability to solve problems using risk assessment variables
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in all forms of media
Ability to troubleshoot and determine causes of problems and provide solutions

Additional Considerations

Experience and/or training related to business writing and grammar is helpful.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Professional administrative experience.
Some college preferred.
Experience in a regulatory environment is preferred.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform preferred.
