Position Summary:
Serving as the Overnight Lead for Rice Parking Operations, this individual monitors all Rice Parking areas during the overnight hours. This position is critical to ensuring seamless overnight service and preparing parking facilities for the upcoming operational day.
The Overnight Parking Attendant works a consistent schedule, primarily Monday through Saturday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Reporting to the Rice Parking Manager (or designee), they are the primary point of contact during their shift for all after-hours parking inquiries and incidents. A key function of this role involves active physical patrols across the campus to conduct pre-operation checks, guaranteeing that all facilities are clean, safe, and fully functional for the next day's patrons.

Workplace Requirements:
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in person, full-time at Rice University. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
- Physical ability to perform extensive walking or driving patrols across a large campus throughout the shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work the established overnight shift of 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and occasional other shifts as needed (usually event-related).
Hiring Range: $15.73 to $18 per hour, contingent upon experience and qualifications
*Non-exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
- One (1) year of experience in parking operations, security, facilities monitoring, or a related field.
- Experience working overnight shifts or in environments requiring solitary responsibility and decision-making is highly desirable.
- Experience utilizing computer monitoring systems, CCTV, and basic office software.
- Must possess (or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with no more than three moving violations and/or at fault accidents within the past 36 months, and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past three years.
