Staff Accountant

Salary: $70,000 - 80,000/yearAs an Accountant specializing in government contracting, you will play a pivotal role in our financial operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and support our project management teams with cost analysis and budgeting using Deltek Costpoint software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and government regulations.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets for internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Support project managers in financial planning and analysis, including cost estimation, budget development, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and adherence to contract terms.
• Assist with audits and financial reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Monitor and analyze project financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of government accounting principles and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum [2] years of experience as an accountant, preferably in government contracting.
• Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint software is essential.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and other federal regulations governing government contracts.
• Experience with project accounting and cost analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
