Wealth Management Technology (WMT) is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical platform behind the products and services used by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business, Financial Advisors, and their Teams.
Analytics, Intelligence and Data Technologies (AIDT) is the Group under WMT that takes care of all Wealth Management projects related to Data Analytics, Data Science, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning etc.
What you'll do in the role:
The candidate will be part of Field management Platforms (FMP) Fleet within WM Product Technology working primarily in the FBMS Mainframe squad supporting FA Compensation and National Registration (NRS) Systems.
FA Compensation system calculates FA and Producing Manager compensation on a daily/monthly basis. Inputs for calculations include P&S and sundry other product areas. Downstream recipients include My Practice, Payroll, General Ledger, Data Warehouse, BMR.
The National Registration System maintains State and Futures registrations for WM individuals. FAs, Support Staff and Branch, Complex and Region Managers require registrations to work with clients and perform supervisory functions. System is also used for maintaining primary, secondary, JPN and House FA numbers. Producing individuals require FA#s (aka production numbers) to trade and maintain client accounts.
The candidate will be required to analyze, code, test and implement software, conduct code reviews, and participate in other phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
What you'll bring to the role:
Good hands-on experience with Cobol, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, SQL Queries skillset
Hands-on experience with version control tool like Changeman and MF GIT
Experience of building new module from scratch
Good experience in data & system analysis
Good experience with Mainframe Batches and Stored Procedures
Exposure to Agile development process
Business focused; results oriented.
Self-driven and self-motivated
Strong Analysis and Problem-Solving Skills
Excellent Communication Skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $210,000 per year, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings,
