Summary 

DLA Piper is seeking a patent agent to join its Patent Development & Strategy group. This position is open to our Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Palo Alto, and Seattle offices.  

Education 

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in chemical engineering or chemistry

​Certificates 

• Registration with the USPTO

Experience 

• Minimum 2+ years of experience with patent prosecution, drafting patent applications, and due diligence. 
   

• Direct and applicable experience in a large or mid-sized law firm.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements 

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

• Hybrid with some in-office expectations or remote (as appropriate)

Pay Transparency 

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $120,000 – $225,000 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also
