Overview
The Sr. UX Designer will create engaging digital experiences that empower our members to achieve their fitness, health, and wellness goals. Reporting to the UX Manager and partnering closely with Product Management, this role will transform research insights and requirements into wireframes, detailed user flows, and functional prototypes. In this role, you will work across both web and app, accounting for both the gym and home settings as we craft effective solutions. Collaborating with Design, Product, and Development teams, you will bring expertise and leadership to every project, leveraging best practices informed by research and tailored to project goals, constraints, and context.
Candidates will need to provide an online design portfolio for review. The ideal candidate is able to work our hybrid work schedule out of our Hampton, NH office. We will consider other candidates that currently reside in the EST or CST time zone.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into user-centered designs. Approach early project stages with confidence, surfacing key questions and navigating ambiguity. Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to deliver thoughtful, effective solutions that meet the needs of prospects and members throughout their user journey.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of our users—their needs, journeys, expectations and pain points. Collaborate with the UX Manager and Product team on research and user testing, bringing your knowledge of best practices to test design, test assets, and the assessment of the research findings.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure digital products meet user needs while respecting technical architecture and constraints. You’ll balance multiple priorities and demonstrate sound judgment and business acumen when evaluating and recommending potential trade-offs.
- Give and receive feedback and critique effectively and tactfully, as we review together regularly to refine and hone our work.
- Apply and help to maintain our evolving design system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Psychology, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in UX or digital product design
- Experience working in close collaboration with product management and technology teams to break down complex workflows and requirements
- Comfort working across the full product life cycle, from early stage analysis through development support
- Expertise in Figma with a strong portfolio to demonstrate your design thinking process, how you approach and solve problems, and your knowledge of visual design principles
- Experience collaborating with other designers and presenting your work to a variety of stakeholders
- Top-notch interpersonal and communication skills; must be comfortable explaining rationale for design choices and be receptive to feedback and new ideas
