GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
The Pharmacy Technician assists Pharmacists in pharmaceutical preparation, distribution and the record keeping functions in the delivery of pharmaceutical supplies to patients of all ages in accordance with department policies and procedures. The Retail Pharmacy Technician II role will be expected to assist in training/orienting other technicians, lead projects as directed as well as vaccinate patients upon request.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Retail Pharmacy Technician required. Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy based on state worked. National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required. Education/certified to vaccinate from a course logged under NABP is required. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Assists the Pharmacist in providing effective drug dispensing services to all patients served by the MedNow pharmacy. Assists the Pharmacist in training Pharmacy Technician Trainees in the day-to-day duties of Pharmacy Technicians as assigned by the Director. Excellent mathematical skills required for the preparation and dispensing of medications to patienProficient in all areas of the Pharmacy, is aware of the workload in each area and is willing and able to help when needed. Assists in maintaining medication and supplies by ordering, receiving and restocking for the department as requested. Excellent oral and written communication skills for routine interaction with hospital staff, patients, and visitors. Administer vaccines appropriate to patient requests as approved by the pharmacist.
