Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the positions shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.
Description
Under general supervision, performs varied accounts payable/receivable or payroll duties assuring the maintenance of proper operations and accurate records.
- Processes purchase orders, verifies accounts payable invoices, ensures timely and correct payments and maintains vendor files
- Processes and accounts for monies in accounts receivable/payable area, monitors departmental budgets, prepares checks, and reports cash flow needs for payment of invoice/bills
- Creates and maintains PC spreadsheets to ensure proper tracking of funds and prepares monthly reports
- Prepares bank deposits and daily cash balance reports, reconciles bank statements and prepares compliance reports
- May process payroll documents, confirming timesheets and overtime, verifying deductions, charging appropriate accounts, maintaining records of leave accrual and payment of insurance premiums
- May answer complaints and questions from the general public
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience in Accounts Receivable/Payable and Payroll
- Knowledge of basic Accounting or Business practices and methods
- Knowledge of standard computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications
- Knowledge of public relations/customer service principles, practices and techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Preferred
- High School diploma or GED
Criteria/Conditions
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Position is in busy, non-smoking office
- Location requires mobility in an office environment
- Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required
