Tech Lead

Job Title: Android OEM QA Lead 

We are looking for Android OEM QA Lead who is responsible for leading the quality assurance strategy, planning, execution, and delivery of Android-based device software for an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). This role ensures that system software, firmware, hardware integrations, and custom OEM features meet performance, stability, security, and compatibility standards across all target markets. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

Define and implement QA strategy, processes, and best practices for Android device development. 

Lead a cross-functional QA team across multiple locations (onsite/offshore). 

Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to track product readiness. 

Drive continuous improvement in test coverage and release processes. 

Perform manual testing of Android OS builds, system applications, and OEM customizations on mobile devices. 

Execute test cases across multiple devices, OS versions, and network environments. 

Validate GMS (Google Mobile Services) certification requirements, system apps, and device configurations. 

Conduct functional, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing on Android builds. 

Identify, document, and track defects and issues using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar. 

Collaborate with developers, automation engineers, and product teams to ensure high-quality releases. 

Validate OTA updates, bootloader/unlock procedures, and device provisioning steps. 

Provide test reports, logs, and performance feedback to stakeholders. 

Support factory and field testing as required by OEM standards 

Required Qualifications: 

Experience in manual testing, preferably on Android OEM platforms. 

Strong knowledge of Android OS, ADB commands, and system logs (Logcat). 

Experience testing system-level components (Settings, Camera, Telephony, Connectivity, etc.).
