JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides acute and comprehensive health care to patients in various states of health or illness. PAs practice medicine within their scope of practice based on their education, training and experience. PAs collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed to provide care to patients. APP would have opportunity to care for cancer patients and also have shifts to cover the oncology infusion center on the main campus. Currently looking for an additional part-time APP to work 20 hours a week, to allow for coverage for the infusion center on the weekends.
EDUCATION:
Successful completion of PA educational program at an institution accredited by ARC-PA (Accreditation and Review Commission on Education for the PA.) Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred. Current NCCPA Board Certification required and active licensure to practice as PA by the VT Board of Medical Practice.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience as a hematology/oncology physician assistant required, including knowledge of disease processes, chemotherapy administration, infusion reactions, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education. Hours are variable depending on applicant's preference. Could be all weekends (infusion only) or combination of weekdays and weekends (combination of infusion coverage and oncology clinic visits).
