TMS Data Governance Lead

What you’ll do:
The TMS Data Governance Lead is accountable for the governance, quality, integration, and lifecycle management of data supporting Eaton's Transportation Management System (TMS). The role ensures transportation-related data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with business objectives, enabling effective planning, execution, reporting, and analytics across the supply chain. Working closely with Logistics, IT, Master Data owners, and business stakeholders, the role drives data standards, quality improvements, system integrations, and deployment readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation Data Governance
Own transportation master data, including carriers, lanes, locations, rates, and shipment attributes.
Define data standards, governance policies, and validation rules.
Monitor and improve data quality across the TMS domain.
2. Data Readiness & Deployment Support
Define and assess data requirements for TMS implementations.
Identify data gaps and lead remediation activities.
Support data migration, transformation, validation, and deployment activities.
3. Cross-Functional Alignment
Partner with business data owners, stewards, IT, and Logistics Technology teams to ensure data quality and process alignment.
Coordinate governance activities across Customer, Location, Item, and Logistics data domains.
Ensure reliable integration between TMS, SAP, and other enterprise systems.
4. Data Stewardship & Continuous Improvement
Establish post-go-live data ownership and maintenance processes.
Lead transportation data governance reviews and change management activities.
Drive continuous improvement through the TMS Data Governance framework.
5. Future TMS Rollouts
Conduct data readiness assessments for new deployments.
Lead data quality improvement initiatives to support rollout readiness.
Serve as the Data Governance lead for future TMS implementation projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferrably in Business or Data management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation and Logistics
- 7+ years of experience in a functional role within the logistics domain
Skills:
- Experience of participating in IT projects to deploy technology platforms to support logistics processes.
- Transportation and freight operations expertise, data governance understanding, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across global teams.
- Experience of using SAP, TMS, and MDM tools, incoterms, and ERP/WMS/TMS integration concepts.
- Excellent communication skills in English, team work in a complex, multi-cultural environment, and an ability to navigate ambiguity. Self-motivated with a strong drive for results.
