Director of Events, Annual Events

1 big thing: The Events Director role serves as an integral leader to the strategy and operations behind Axios annual events (multi-sponsor, half or full day summit style programs).

- As Axios events continues to expand and innovate its event line-up and formats, we are looking for an experienced event lead to own live annual events from kick-off to the wrap-up.
Go deeper: This role will manage multiple, concurrent multi-sponsor events while moving at a fast pace and the customer relationship post-sale in partnership with operations to activation for up to 6x annual events in a calendar year.
The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for Axios’ mission and will have the following skills:

- 5+ years of demonstrated experience working in events, digital media, and proven track record producing large-scale, summit-style events
- Experience managing multiple complex event timelines in a cross-functional environment, meeting deadlines, and exceeding expectations
- Proficiency in orchestrating communications across a large number of internal and external stakeholders
- Natural ability to think critically, problem solve and provide effective solutions
- Strong vendor experience and attention to detail
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills
- Enjoys building processes to enhance the performance of the events team and its creators
- Project management software experience is a plus (i.e. Wrike, Asana)

Base salary for this role is in the range of $100,000.00-$125,000.00 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits.
