New Products Supervisor

The New Products Supervisor will help to develop and optimize popcorn products, focusing on flavor and format innovation, as well as designing and managing the appropriate packaging to ensure quality, food safety, and shelf life.

Responsibilities:

1. New Product Development:
   • Conduct research and development of new popcorn formulas and flavors.
   • Propose improvements to existing products.
   • Participate in prototype creation at the laboratory level.
   • Coordinate and collaborate with production teams for industrial testing and scaling in the plant.
2. Packaging Innovation:
   • Design functional and attractive packaging that preserves product freshness and quality.
   • Develop innovative and sustainable packaging solutions.
   • Collaborate with packaging suppliers.
3. Process Optimization:
   • Work with the production team to implement improvements in packaging and production processes.
   • Evaluate and adjust production quotas to maximize efficiency.
   • Monitor packaging performance.

Educational Background:

• Higher technical degree, Bachelor's degree, or Engineering in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or related fields.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product development and/or packaging in the food industry, preferably in the snacks sector or similar products.
• Knowledge of new product development, sensory testing, and functional packaging development.
• Experience in selecting and testing packaging materials such as plastics, cardboard, and other types of packaging.

Requirements:

• Language: Bilingual (100%) – English and Spanish.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of quality and food safety regulations.
• Proficiency in packaging design software and product development (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) *Optional.
• Ability to perform cost analysis, product performance assessments, and feasibility studies for new products and packaging.
• Knowledge of food production process engineering.
• Familiarity with packaging materials (plastics, paper, corrugated).

Work Conditions:

• Location: Vernon, CA Production Plant.
• Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility to travel between Mexico and the United States.
• Travel: Willingness to travel to suppliers, factories, or research centers when necessary.
