Job Description
About the job you’re considering:
We are seeking a highly experienced Scrum Master with strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record coaching Agile team, driving delivery across complex initiatives, and partnering with stakeholders at all organizational levels. This role combines the servant-leadership focus of a Scrum Master with the coordination, risk management, and program-level oversight typically associated with a Release Train Engineer or a Program Manager.
The ideal candidate will excel in team coaching, enterprise-level coordination, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement, enabling multiple teams to deliver value predictably and sustainably.
Your Role:
- Serve as a servant leader for one or more Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles, Scrum practices, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coach teams on self-organization, collaboration, empirical process control, and cross-functionality.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Mentor Scrum Masters and team leaders across the organization, helping mature Agile practices.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple Agile teams to ensure alignment with business priorities, shared milestones, and cross-team dependencies.
- Lead or support Program Increment (PI) planning, Scrum-of-Scrums, ART Syncs, and system demos in scaled Agile environments.
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks, dependencies, and impediments that affect multiple teams or overall program delivery.
- Ensure teams operate within a consistent cadence and deliver predictably across increments. Develop and maintain progress tracking dashboards.
- Partner with Product Owners, Product Management, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between roadmaps, capacity, and team commitments.
- Oversee delivery execution, ensuring business outcomes, quality standards, and timelines are met.
- Provide transparent, data-driven reporting to leadership regarding progress, risks, capacity, and performance.
- Introduce and standardize Agile best practices, metrics, and delivery frameworks.
- Support adoption of Lean-Agile principles across teams and help evolve the organization’s Agile transformation
Your Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Project Manager, or Program Manager.
- Experience operating in scaled Agile environments (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, or similar).
- Strong background in coordinating work across multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
- Proven ability to lead programs with complex dependencies and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven experience managing 2 or more Scrum teams at a time.
- Excellent facilitation, conflict-resolution, and servant-leadership capabilities.
- Ability to coach individuals and teams at different levels of Agile maturity.
- Strong influencer with experience engaging executives, managers, and technical leads.
- Strong experience with PI Planning, ART events, dependency mapping, and value-stream alignment.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps.
- SAFe RTE, SPC, or advanced Scrum Master certifications (A-CSM, CSP-SM, PSM II/III) Preferred
