The Global Communications Team
We work around the globe to shape internal and external conversations about Okta, identity, security, privacy, and technology innovation. We are builders and owners of the company narrative and engage with the press, analysts, the public, customers, and employees. You will play a key role in growing this team, elevating the importance of identity, and evolving Okta’s story.
The Opportunity
Okta is seeking a driven social media and digital communications pro to join our Global Communications team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Corporate & Technology PR and partner with key stakeholders across the company to share Okta’s vision and impact with the world.
We are searching for a communications pro with a passion for social media creativity and trends, developing integrated thought leadership campaigns, and an eye for creating compelling, newsworthy content to build and execute a dedicated digital program across Okta’s paid and owned channels.
Ideally, you will have experience with how PR, digital comms, and the news blend together and be able to act as a social media and digital thought partner to our marketing and agency resources, influencers, global PR teams, executive communications, and executive staff. And you will be a leader at identifying what works in social and constantly scouring platforms and the news to identify proactive trends and opportunities for Okta and our leaders.
What you’ll be doing
- Define the digital and social media strategy that supports Okta’s Global Communications programs and act as the social media strategy consultant for Okta executives
- Develop a digital editorial plan in partnership with the communications team to create content aligned to the best practices of each platform
- Create global integrated campaigns (organic, paid, influencer) that cover Okta’s news and announcements, events, thought leadership, and more
- Conceive and develop real-time content (videos, graphics, blogs, social posts, etc) that is tied to trending news, conversations, and executive POVs
- Partner closely with Okta’s agencies and marketing team for trends monitoring, listening and reporting and continually apply these insights to planning and execution
- Work closely with the PR teams to boost organic, earned and paid content based on business priorities
- Lead Okta’s influencer program, including identifying new influencers, managing ongoing relationships with them, and budget management
- Work closely with the PR and executive communications teams on high touch social media support with several Okta executives
- Partner with the broader comms team on social strategy and response for any issues management/crisis response incidents
What you’ll bring to the role
- Five to eight years of communications and social media and digital experience
- Strong writing skills with a distinct POV for both social media and long form content like blogs
- Expertise developing videos,graphics and other forms of ‘snackable’ content for social and other platforms
- An understanding of Okta’s business and experience working with technology companies
- Passion for the tech and business media landscape and a strong sense for what makes a story resonate with key audiences
- Ability to synthesize and simplify concepts and turn them into compelling content for social
