Title: Bilingual Patient Financial Coordinator Reports to: Patient Accounts Manager

Department: Billing and Insurance FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for effective and efficient verification of all patients’ benefits before their appointment
• Research eligibility information online with various insurance carriers
• Responsible for acting as a liaison between patients and insurance carriers to ensure all proper measures are taken and information is collected
• Responsible for obtaining all referrals and authorizations for services rendered when required
• Ensures all patient questions are answered regarding benefits and out-of-pocket costs
• Contacts patient prior to their appointment providing to them the approximate out-of-pocket cost; presents different payment options available
• Maintains patient demographics along with coordination of benefits
• Record all relevant details with the patient and insurance provider regarding the verification of benefits via eligibility and benefits worksheet
• Offer prompt support to all front office administrators with eligibility and benefit details for all add-ons
• Process inbound and outbound calls
• Other related duties as required by Patient Accounts Manager 

Requirements

• High School diploma
• 1 years of experience working in a medical office or heavy call center 
• 1 year insurance verification for medical procedures 
• Proficient at Microsoft Suite
• Exceptional time management skills 
• Exceptional conflict resolution skills 
• Ability to multi-task 
• Customer service training, either on-the-job or through a certificate program 
• Ability to travel to other WIS sites on occasion 
• Ability to sit for hours at a time typing on a computer keyboard
• Ability to walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds
