Duties & Responsibilities
The Criminal Justice Division is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Attorneys General to serve as our Bias Crime Resource Prosecutor. Β This position will work with the DOJ Bias Crime Special Agent to help coordinate statewide response for bias crimes, including consultation with the DOJ Bias Response Hotline team.Β The selected attorney will be responsible for (in part):
Providing technical assistance and case support to Oregon prosecutors;
Working with investigators to ensure thorough investigation prior to and throughout prosecution in bias crime and other cases;
Coordinating with DOJ Bias Response Hotline advocates; federal, tribal, state, and local prosecutors and law enforcement; culturally-specific community organizations; and other partners to promote best practices for bias crime investigations and prosecutions.
Developing and maintaining statewide resources on bias crime case law;
Developing and maintaining relevant publications;
Developing and presenting relevant trainings;
