DESIGN ENGINEERING MANAGER

Since 1983, HTI Cybernetics® has provided intelligent manufacturing solutions that support and enhance production, including automation systems, material handling solutions, assembly tooling, and collaborative robotics. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the Mechanical Design department with approximately 10 employees; manage staff, delegate work, ensure quality and timeliness of department work.
• Oversee the design of 3D assemblies for a variety of ergonomic and automated assembly tools.
• Develop & maintain excellent relationships with HTI department managers, customers & suppliers.
• Coordinate and develop all internal and external mechanical design activities.
• Work closely with Project Management, Controls Engineering, and Manufacturing to design automated tools and assembly projects from inception to final customer acceptance.
• Lead design review meetings to review progress, identify potential interferences, and drive decisions in developing designs.
• Document information, decisions, changes, and open issues from customers and suppliers.
• Gather required project information from customers, suppliers, and internal teams to create designs.
• Demonstrate Engineering professionalism in all activities and provide efficient service to customers.

Requirements

• Proven management experience in successfully leading a Mechanical Design department.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• 10 + years of Mechanical Design experience
• 5 + years of experience in Managing a Design department
• Proficiency working with Unigraphics NX design software. 
• Knowledge of general assembly tooling and/or automated assembly tooling.
