Your role as a Temporary Program Administrative Assistant:
The Program Administrative Assistant reports to the Academic Administrative Services Team and is responsible for providing high-level administrative, programmatic, and project coordination support for effective operations in the SC Johnson College of Business.
This role specializes in supporting the Cornell-Tsinghua MBA/FMBA and the Cornell-Peking MMH/MBA programs, coordinating tasks between different time zones and providing administrative support during 4 residential sessions. This position requires strong organizational skills, relationship-building, and communication.
As the Program Administrative Assistant, you will:
- Follow, maintain, and update checklists around heightened instructional support activities (events, trips, etc.) in collaboration with other departments such as Student Services, the Shared Service Center, and faculty.
- Provide administrative and instructional support as requested by faculty.
- Assist with administrative needs in other areas of the College as needed.
- Act as the liaison between faculty, staff, students, University, and external entities.
Our office is located in Sage Hall with core business hours of 8:00AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday. As a part-time position this position offers flexibility for start and end times, and this position will require you to be present during residential sessions and commencement activities. Additional hours per week may be required during these high-volume sessions that last for a period of a few weeks each.

The term for this appointment is 12 months and will work approximately 18 hours/week. This position is a part-time position based on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, NY and is not eligible for benefits.

Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with 2-4 years related experience or equivalent combination.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Exceptional customer service skills and proven experience in event planning
- Excellent oral/written communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential. Sound judgment, communication, and public relations skills are required, as well as strong detail management and follow-through skills with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly to multiple projects while accomplishing urgent, sensitive, or confidential tasks, meeting competing deadlines and priorities.
