C-26 Metroliner/Merlin ArmyTransport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) Little Rock, AR.

The C-26 Metroliner/Merlin Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft. 

(Level of Mechanic is based on years of specific C-26 hands-on A&P mechanic experience).

• A valid (FAA) A&P certificate is Required.

• Army C-26 Metroliner/ Merlin hands-on A&P mechanic experience is required.

• Union CBA offers three (3) levels of experience for Hire - (AM-1, AM-2, AM-3); the level of experience for hire will be determined by the years of specific hands-on the assigned aircraft, C-26 Metroliner/Merlin.

• US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Gov Secret Security Clearance, and for facility and base access.

• Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. 

• These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.

• Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.

• Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.

• Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.

• Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.

• Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.

• Perform engine run or taxi operations.  Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.

• Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.

• Union CBA Site provides 3 levels of A&P employment, this is based on the specific years of hands-on experience on the MDS (Mission Design Series) aircraft assigned, C-26 Metroliner/Merlin.

• AM-1 Requires - Two (2) Years A&P experience Required, with two (2) or more years of specific C-26 hands-on maintenance experience strongly preferred. 

• AM-2 Requires - Five (5) years of FAA A&P aircraft mechanic experience Required, with Five (5) years of hands-on C-26 experience.

• AM-3 Requires - Ten (10) years of A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of specific C-26 hands-on experience Required. 

• A valid Driver's License is required. 

• Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA; this site is currently working a standard dayshift, M-F 40 hours a week.

• Mechanic Tools are Required; Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox. Toolbox must be shadowed, with each tool etched with Mechanic PID, (recruiter can provide tool data).

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is Required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.

A&P Mechanic Medical Requirements:

• Pre-employment (FAA) A&P Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years.

Physical and Additional Qualifications

• Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

• Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.

• Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
