Summary:

The Medical Receptionist will work within Cook Children's Hematology and Oncology Center. Responsibilities include greeting the patients and establishing a friendly and positive in-take and check out encounter for each patient’s visit. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changes in both staffing levels and patient volumes. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for maintaining patient flow, answering phones promptly and courteously, scheduling, registering, billing, and payment collection activities for clinic patients while following all applicable policies and procedures. They will successfully learn and understand diversified insurance plans and medical terminology. 

Hours: 8:30am - 5pm Mon-Fri

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • 1 year Receptionist/Front Desk experience preferred.

  • Exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Maturity to withstand pressure that may arise in relation to working in a busy medical setting.
