We are looking for someone to join our growing team in our dynamic, early-stage biotech company. The Accounting Manager will provide hands-on execution, administration and oversight of the accounting function and will improve our financial controls and compliance. You will execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close procedures, and accuracy of internal financial reporting to management. You will be an important member of the accounting team and be involved in other projects and have an abundance of opportunities available for you to grow your career. You will report to the Corporate Controller.
This position is located in Seattle and will require an on site presence of three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an accounting team to complete all accounting processes and activities across the organization to ensure compliance with the U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
  • Assist us as we move from pre-commercial to commercial stage specifically in revenue recognition and inventory/cost accounting.
  • Manage and execute the daily operations of the accounting department (including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, prepaid assets, and cash).
  • Prepare and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations for month-end processes and accruals.
  • Monitor monthly and quarterly accounting data and produce financial reports
  • Partner with business leaders on new products, programs, and transactions to understand the financial impact and ensure accounting issues are identified and avoided.
  • Maintain a internal control environment and prepare documentation following Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal control (SOX) policies and procedures.
  • You will coordinate implementation of accounting controls processes or new systems as needed.
  • You will work with internal and external auditors to support their quarterly review and annual audit procedures.
  • You will promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation and continue to grow the accounting team with the Nautilus Biotechnology.
  • You will partner with third-party vendors for appropriate software, tools, and services.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years of related work experience in accounting in a position holding similar responsibilities. US GAAP and SOX knowledge required.
  • You have experience in Revenue or Cost accounting.
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience. Big4 of CPA is a plus.
  • Experience working with enterprise financial systems (NetSuite ).
  • You can analyze problems, and learn new skills and systems
  • You have analytical skills and proficient in Excel (including pivot tables, v-lookup, and formulas).
  • You can perform tasks both in a team and individually.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The hiring pay range for this position is $92,250 to $135,170.00 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role; title may be assessed one level lower or higher, accordingly. Other components of total compensation include a competitive options grant at the time of hire (with potential for additional grants).
