Senior Software Engineer (Device Detections & Tasking)

You are fascinated by how your software is used and how it can be improved. You like to dive into the end users’ workflows to make them as seamless as possible. Because it’s not just about the code, it’s about the results.

You believe that collaborating with others makes it so that everyone learns, you build a better product, and you can sleep at night and go on vacation with the assurance that what you’ve constructed is stable.

The Device Detections and Tasking team is responsible for pulling data from our customers’ environments and running automated detections on that data as quickly as possible, because every second counts during a security incident. We're building a next-generation data ingestion and detection pipeline that empowers our detection and response engineers to focus on what they love about security.

To accomplish these goals we need help building out our data pipeline and user interface, which will allow our users to describe detection logic. Proficiency with React is strongly preferred, along with an eagerness to learn more about data-intensive systems (in Go). What You Should Bring With You

• Experience with one or more front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Ember, Angular).
• Experience building and scaling data-centric software solutions and data pipelines.
• Experience with database architecture (e.g. PostGres, Cloud SQL, BigQuery or Bigtable) and orchestration, including deep understanding of SQL and implementing microservices (e.g. Go, Node, Python) & APIs (e.g. REST,  RPC, HTTP, JSON).
• Understanding of message bus / queue frameworks (e.g PubSub).
• Understanding of relational databases and database architectures (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Experience writing tests at different levels (unit, integration, smoke, etc.).
• Familiarity with running systems and using services of a cloud platform (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
• Ability to code in a readable, reliable, extensible, compiled and well scripted manner in multiple programming languages.  Can easily identify patterns and incorporate leading practices. 
• Working knowledge of logging, monitoring, query, analysis, and metrics (e.g. Google Logs, Loggly, Splunk, Stackdriver, and/or Datadog).
