Lift Station Repair Technician

Position Summary

In this field based position, the Lift Station Repair Technician is responsible for performing services and repairs to sewage pump stations. This position involves electrical and plumbing tasks, as well as confined space entry.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, repairs, and replacements of lift station equipment.
• Trouble shooting equipment malfunctions and performing repairs.
• Assisting in the installation, cleaning, maintenance, repair, and or rebuild of mechanical equipment found in sewage pump stations.
• Perform diagnostic tests to determine operating efficiency of equipment, permit and other document readings, and prepares reports.
• Maintenance and repairs of electrical control panels
• Responds to trouble alarms during normal and after working hours
• Work in confined spaces such as manholes or wet wells. (work may be performed in confined spaces)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to enter and work in confined spaces as defined as OSHA regulations up to 40 feet below ground.
• Climb ladders and work at heights up to 20'
• Lift and move up to 65lbs
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Demonstrate working knowledge and experience using tools and testing equipment applicable to pump station maintenance.
• Ability to perform math functions.
• 2 or more years experience performing lift station repairs and maintenance preferred.
• Previous experience working with electrical components (pumps, alarms, control panels).

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Drivers license in good standing.
• 2 or more years experience performing lift station repairs and maintenance preferred.
• Ability to successfully pas DOT drug screening, medical certification, physical and road exams.
• Must be able to lift over 65lbs regularly,
