A new challenge? 

Pinnacle Polymers, LLC, a privately-owned polypropylene manufacturing facility, has an opening for a Logistics Specialist.

  

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating supply chain activities supporting the manufacturing finished goods inventory both domestic and internationally.  Develops both operational and commercial movement support strategies balancing reliability and commercial expectations.  Responsible for distribution packaging, warehousing and transloading services.   

 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Management
  • 3-5 years of domestic and international shipping and warehousing experience
  • 3+ years of rail shipping experience
  • Functional experience using SAP
  • Experience with negotiation
  • Ability to work in the U.S. and successful completion of a pre-employment background check and screening
  • Ability to travel both domestic and internationally for site visits and audits

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Production Planner and Supply Chain team to ensure finished goods inventory is shipped via rail and ready for transload and packaging activity.
  • Identifies and implements domestic and international scheduling of carriers to meet commercial and distribution needs. 
  • Identifies and implements domestic and international warehousing for inventory storage and distribution. 
  • Negotiate warehousing and transloading contracts.
  • Responsible for generating, obtaining and providing various required export documentation, securing container bookings, submitting customs filings, and managing the movement of our export products to the ports to be exported overseas.  Use SAP and other software to track and maintain records.
  • Monitors tracking, tracing and troubleshooting issues with regard to warehousing, transloading & export shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international transportation/logistics industry and DOT regulations
  • Strong and effective contract negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well unsupervised and as part of a team; establish solid working relationship with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of personal computers utilizing Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Must be willing and able to safely, effectively and efficiently carry out written and verbal job-related instructions, and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple tasks while making decisions
  • Ability to plan, balance, and multi-task job responsibilities based on business need.
  • Outstanding communication skills with both verbal and written
     

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Tasks require long periods of sitting
  • Regularly required to use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms
  • Requires regular use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, and scanner/copier)
  • This role is regularly required to talk, see and hear
  • Normal Production Plant environment with controlled climate as well as outside elements
  • Moderate noises (business office with computer and printers, light traffic or manufacturing facility with heavy machinery)
