About the role

Overview

SimVentions, consistently recognized as one of Virginia’s Best Places to Work, is seeking a Senior-level Integration and Test (I&T) Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive experience in Navy/Joint Warfighting systems, specifically Electronic Warfare (EW) and Combat Systems integration to provide T&E support for our Navy customer. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an Agile environment and have expertise in the design, develop, test, and integrate advanced defense systems. The ideal candidate will also have a deep understanding of systems engineering processes, expertise in COTS systems, and hands-on experience with AEGIS TI-16 Suites. This position offers the opportunity to work with both SimVentions and government personnel in a collaborative, dynamic environment. This position is seated on site in Dahlgren, Virginia 5 days a week.

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, or physical science from an accredited university.
  • 15 years of experience in engineering and systems engineering for Navy/Joint warfighting systems.
  • 7 years of experience in research, development, testing, and evaluation.
  • Expertise in using analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in design, development, and system integration.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of system integration principles and software integration methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Combat Systems integration, testing, and certification.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Agile, Scrum, SQL, and RHEL OS.
  • Experience with EW systems and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Common Processing System (CPS/CDS), specifically AEGIS TI-16 Suites.
  • Experience in systems engineering processes for weapon systems, including requirements development, design, software, integration, testing, certification, and information assurance.
  • Proficient with MBSE tools like MagicDraw and DOORS®.
  • Knowledge of military standards, interface development, architectures, functional flow diagrams, and engagement sequencing.
  • Experience with requirements definition, traceability, verification, system specifications, architecture development, system interfaces, trade studies, and functional requirements.
  • Proven experience developing, designing, integrating, maintaining, and testing Electronic Warfare systems for Navy/Marine Corps.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of threats, EW systems, and engagement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Combat system integration and system architecture.
  • Active Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required for eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a software development or integrated product team, following plans and procedures.
  • Execute test and verification efforts.
  • Prepare test plans and reports, analyze data, and present findings to technical audiences.
  • Develop technical documents, including test plans, reports, and procedures.
  • Perform requirements engineering, including analysis of new capabilities, changes, traceability, and documentation.
  • Provide EW expertise and systems engineering to align SKCS design with EW programs and combat systems.
  • Document and report design alignment activities and progress.
  • Attend POR meetings and manage risk assessments for SKCS design alignments.
  • Provide T&E support in an Agile environment.
  • Support SKCS subsystem integration testing with AN/SLQ-32 (V)6, (V)7, Aegis, and Ship Self-Defense System.
  • Generate test reports, metrics, performance analysis, and verify trouble report resolutions.
  • Maintain SKCS test documentation, including test cases, procedures, and verification matrices. Support test observation reports and trouble report investigations.
  • Coordinate SKCS technical support and integration testing with PORs.
  • Create and update verification matrices during testing events across various platforms and baselines.
  • Provide laboratory support, including system operation, test equipment installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and training.
