Job Description

As  Sr. Director, Enterprise Applications Strategy, you’ll lead the charge in maximizing the value of our IT application investments. This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based in either Houston, TX or Dallas, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure IT application investments align with business goals and provide value for investment.
    • Govern the process of value assessment and value realization for enterprise applications investments.
    • Collaborate with Enterprise Applications Portfolio leaders, and their business partners, to identify and measure the value to be achieved by proposed solutions.
    • Provide steady state reporting on value realization; and analysis of overall value delivered across enterprise applications. 
    • Facilitate alignment with IT project delivery processes and ensure the successful execution of committed work and realization of benefits.
  • Rationalize the application portfolio and develop a roadmap informed by organizational goals and objectives, determination of redundancy, user experience improvement opportunities, financial impact, security and other risks, and more.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate with IT leaders to understand the art of the possible, fit gap, and approach for incorporating select solutions into IT’s long-term roadmap.
  • Design end-to-end solutions that support both short-term and long-term business objectives.
    • Maintain a comprehensive view of AECOMs integrated solutions, and investment plans, and design solutions that support business objectives and long-term technology strategies.
    • Partner with User Experience team members to apply design thinking principles and develop connected and coherent solutions that focus on the end users’ ability to support their end-to-end process.
    • Apply creativity, experience and the latest facilitative approaches to engage business stakeholders and IT team members; solicit thorough requirements and develop solutions
    • Develop and lead a team of business analysts and solution design consultants. 
  • Partner with the IT team members, AECOM compliance and audit staff and business stakeholders to ensure that AECOM’s applications are compliant. 
    • Serve as the Enterprise Applications representative on Audit/Compliance Initiatives – understanding scope, engaging team members as appropriate, and supporting stated objectives.
    • Ensure that IT controls are applied throughout the project delivery, defined in support plan deliverables, and maintained as steady state functions where required. 
  • Support key Managed Services governance functions to include managing capacity and demand for enhancements, automations, and major support activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS plus at least 15 years of relevant combined experience in IT project management and business analysis, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including at least 6 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive solutions that meet business needs.
  • Appreciation for the end-use
