What You Will Do
The Development Operations organization is looking for an Assembly Process Engineer responsible for creating and approving engine assembly instructions and serving as a focal and technical expert on assembly and disassembly methods across Pratt & Whitney’s commercial and military development engine portfolio. The Process Engineer (PE) must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and team skills as well as an ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements. PEs develop and implement new technologies and lean manufacturing techniques into assembly processes, building the skills necessary to independently support the cross-disciplinary assembly teams driving validation and certification initiatives. Support and training opportunities are always available for the proactive employee in a culture that promotes and demands continuous learning.
Create and revise Assembly Process Instructions to meet validation / certification requirements for commercial and military Development Engines.
Engage directly with the West Palm Beach Development Operations Assembly Floor to receive feedback, incorporate lessons learned, and troubleshoot any issues delaying engine assembly campaigns.
Drive the development and implementation of new and robust processes needed to ensure production readiness and improve personnel safety and process efficiency/reliability.
Apply and supply feedback to the creation and refinement of Engineering Standard Work for the Assembly Process Engineering discipline
Consistently increase technical proficiency while collaborating with peers to improve their own proficiency.
Coordinate with hardware owners and review bills of material to identify needed changes to engineering definition and/or work instructions.
Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g. DIVE, DAISE, PFMEA, etc.)
Travel is up to 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor degree in STEM
2 years of engineering experience or Advanced Degree in STEM with a GPA of 3.0 of higher.
Qualifications We Prefer
Process Engineering Planner Approver qualification level OR close achieving the Planner Approver level of proficiency
