Job Description:Position specific responsibilities for the Desk Assistant (Overnight) include:
- Responsible for providing customer service to current residential students, prospective UF students, families, and departmental employees in different residential facilities.
- Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and emails, logging and delivering all packages and special mail sent to housing residents, assisting walk in traffic for the residential area office, providing assistance to the area staff, including but not limited to the area senior clerk/administrative support assistant, night clerk, maintenance staff, building services staff, and administrative staff.
- Assist with inquiries regarding different residential areas and residence halls, different university departments, locations of university buildings and services.
- Provide guidance regarding campus life and student experiences as well as assist with resolving resident student questions and concerns.
- Maintain and update area desk records and materials
- Assist with providing temporary residential and mailbox keys for residents.
- Maintain privacy of student records in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisor and other Housing & Residence Life team members to ensure a smooth transfer of duties and information.
- Create a welcoming environment for all students, families, and visitors by being friendly, courteous, and engaging.
- Other duties as assigned.
$13.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:- Students must be able to work overnight shifts that span 12am - 8am, at one of the 24-hour desks.
- Demonstrated previous experience with customer service.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient with verbal and written communication.
- Possess the ability to work shifts overnight, weekends, University breaks, and holidays.
