About the role

As the Design Technology Manager / CAD Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our digital capabilities and optimizing workflows within our Engineering, Architecture, and Construction projects. You will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and managing digital tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall project outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills to drive innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the company's objectives and industry best practices.

  • Technology Evaluation and Implementation:
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend digital tools, software, and platforms tailored to the specific needs of our AEC projects. Lead the implementation and integration of selected technologies across departments.

  • Workflow Optimization:
    • Analyze existing workflows and processes to identify opportunities for automation, streamlining, and efficiency improvements. Develop and implement solutions to optimize project delivery and resource utilization.

  • Data Management and Analytics:
    • Establish data management protocols and systems to capture, analyze, and leverage project data for insights and decision-making. Implement data analytics tools and techniques to enhance project performance and identify trends.

  • Training and Support:
    • Provide training, guidance, and support to employees on the use of digital tools and technologies. Foster a culture of digital literacy and innovation within the organization.

  • Vendor Management:
    • Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.

  • Cybersecurity and Compliance:
    • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of digital systems and data. Implement measures to mitigate risks and safeguard sensitive information.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in digital transformation. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation to maintain our competitive edge.

  • CADD Support Management:
    •  Oversee a team of Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) support staff, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship. Ensure the team is adequately trained and equipped to deliver high-quality support services to project teams.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, (or equivalent work experience.)
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar role within the Engineering, Architecture, or Construction industry, with a focus on digital transformation and technology integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital tools and technologies relevant to AEC projects, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), CAD software, project management platforms, data analytics tools, and virtual/augmented reality solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully leading digital initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards applicable to the AEC industry.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Autodesk Accreditations, Bentley Accreditations, Project Management Professional) are a plus.
