The Vox Creative Media Design team is a dynamic collective of storytellers, creators, and innovators with disciplines in graphic design, art direction, and animation. WHAT YOU’LL DO
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Media Design team is looking for an experienced Design coordinator to streamline and optimize the design process within our organization. This role will focus on improving workflows, coordinating design teams, managing resources, and ensuring that design projects are completed efficiently and on time.
What you’ll bring
- 4 + years of industry design project management, post-production management, or creative production experience
- Experience creating processes and frameworks for the smooth and efficient workflows of design teams
- A flexible leadership style with the ability to create clarity within complex and sometimes ambiguous work environments and a comfort in adapting to rapidly changing circumstances
- Able to manage interdepartmental relationships with poise and professionalism
- A proven track record of solid written and verbal communication and organizational experience.
- Initiative to solve issues independently while also perceiving when to escalate or loop in stakeholders
- An understanding of design and design team culture along with a basic knowledge of the creation of digital content across multiple platforms such as video, illustration,
- animation, and experiential design
- An appreciation for design practice and process to appropriately advocate for design when other members of the team aren't there
- Knowledge of project management software (Monday.com, Airtable, Slack, and Asana)
- A high standard with respect to design that doesn’t prioritize expediency over quality but rather balances the two according to business priorities
- Familiarity with working within tight timelines and the ability to leverage budgets for bandwidth support
WHO YOU ARE
What you’ll do
- Your primary objective is to make the design organization as effective as possible by enabling designers and their managers to focus on the work
- You’ll communicate across departments within Vox Creative such as Production, Post-Production, Events, Creative Development, Client Relations, Experiential, Operations, and other Project Managers
- While your day-to-day focus will be on the project assignments of the design & animation team, you’ll possess a broad view of the work and strategy through constant communication with partner teams and with the Design Director, occasionally lending assistance to cross functional projects
- You’ll facilitate the team’s understanding of priorities, by tracking projects in our various project management systems
- You’ll build relationships with stakeholders and become a trusted voice of the design team
- You’ll handle the logistics of relationships with external parties, such as contractors or vendors, for design or animation projects. This includes outreach, contracting, and requesting appropriate system access.
- You’ll own the overall Design budgets, including confirming allocations, negotiating rates with external parties, tracking committed costs, and ensuring all payroll and invoices are processed.
