Position Summary:

Serving as a crucial communication link for the entire university, the Delivery Specialist manages both inbound and outbound mail. Responsibilities include retrieving, sorting, and categorizing mail and packages by department, delivering them to the correct recipients, and forwarding misdirected mail.

Workplace Requirements:

• Ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to traverse campus in various weather conditions.
• This position is exclusively on-site, requiring all duties to be performed in person at the Police Annex Building, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

Proposed Hiring Range: $15.75–$16.00 per hour

*Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:

• No formal education
• No experience required
• Valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment) required with no more than three moving violations or at-fault accidents within the past 36 months and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past 3 years
