About the role

Description

Betts Truck Parts & Service is currently looking to hire a Delivery Driver for the Portland branch. Our drivers provide a face-to-face delivery service to our customers and perform warehousing activities. In this fast-paced role, the Delivery Driver will drive trucks over established routes to deliver and sell products or render services, and collect payments from customers. Our Portland branch operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.


Betts is a family-owned company in business for over 155 years. We specialize in parts and service work for suspensions, brakes, wheel ends, and more on a variety of vehicles. We currently operate 8 locations on the West Coast, our truck repair services include laser alignments, steering and drivetrain repairs, Bendix retrofit anti-collision safety system installation, DOT and BIT inspections, leaf spring repair and replacement, truck suspension repair, truck axle and trailer axle repair, brake repair service, hydraulic hoses, custom u-bolts, and more!

Position Summary | Purpose

As a Delivery Driver, you play a key role in Betts Company’s mission to Improve the Way Things Move. You will complete accurate, efficient deliveries to our valued customers while living the Betts Way. Additionally, you’ll support warehouse operations, provide customer support, and accurately pull products to load for your deliveries.


Responsibilities | Duties

Level 1

  • Accurately pulls parts for orders from warehouse and loads onto vehicle
  • Completes daily vehicle inspections and corresponding documentation
  • Executes safe, on time delivery to customers
  • Plans routes to ensure efficient deliveries are completed
  • Maintains clean vehicle and assists in cleaning warehouse, including recycling cardboard and wood as needed
  • Ensures proper load securement utilizing tie downs
  • Provides necessary documentation to customers including core/parts returns, invoicing, and advertisements
  • Ensures accurate completion of invoice signature and dating by customer
  • Safely operates forklift within the warehouse
  • Maintains positive interactions with team and customers

Level 2

  • Responsible for all Level 1 duties
  • Identifies and sorts of brake cores
  • Identifies and reports on potential new customers from delivery route
  • Identifies and reports on like products from other vendors/competitors
  • Asks customers for any parts or service needs while completing deliveries and reports back to branch
  • Assists warehouse with performing cycle counts
  • Completes daily forklift inspections
  • Assists with checking in and putting stock away within the warehouse
  • Files invoices accurately

Level 3/Support Specialist

  • Responsible for all Level 1 and 2 duties
  • Reviews customer inventory and makes product suggestions
  • Able to look up stocking counts
  • Receives and inputs customer orders in system

Requirements

Experience | Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Clean driving record and Class C Driver License required
  • Forklift certification preferred
