Role Summary/Purpose:
This AVP, Co-Brand Analytics role will work closely with the analytics functional leaders to provide strategic analytics, campaign design, tracking and reporting, segmentation and clustering, digital analytics, and retail analysis for the confidential travel client portfolio. This role will lead strategic insights and provide analytics thought leadership to influence marketing strategy. They will also work closely with the client marketing team and the General Manager to promote sustainable growth of the portfolio, as well as deploy analytical insights and strategies around acquisition, early month on book, and cross-sell strategies. In addition, the role will have a heavy emphasis on hands-on analytics on a daily basis, leveraging Synchrony database, client retail database, as well as tools like SAS, SQL, R, Python, Tableau. Digital analytics experience with Google analytics and Adobe analytics is plus.

Essential Responsibilities:
Identify actionable profit-based marketing and product opportunities through customer analysis and data driven insights
Partner with Marketing, Risk, and Sales to develop integrated solutions to grow credit penetration and incremental sales and net income for confidential travel client portfolio
Provide strategic thought leadership and influence SYF business leaders and client teams to implement marketing and product strategies based upon customer, financial and data driven insights
Develop action plans to drive marketing strategy; including targeting recommendations, test design, channel optimization, product opportunities and cost/benefit analysis to review with client and marketing teams
Establish test and control strategies to measure bottom-line impact of targeting strategies by leveraging data from multiple sources and advanced analytical tools
Produce campaign analytics to track results of strategies deployed. Create "test" and "learn" culture through ongoing assessment of product and targeting strategies
Partner with US based and offshore analysts to ensure high-quality execution and delivery of marketing analytics and reporting
Act as a strategy and analytic consultant for large-scale initiatives, providing guidance and leadership for the design, analysis and measurement phases of the project
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Develop strategies and reporting capabilities leveraging tools such as SAS, R, Python, and/or similar analytics packages requiring coding expertise.
Use data visualization tools such as Tableau and BIRST to help develop dashboards and deliver insights
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, OR in lieu of degree, high school diploma and 9+ years of work experience in marketing analytics in the financial services, credit card and/or payments industry
5+ years of progressive work experience, including:
- 3+ years of experience within the financial services, retail or credit card payments industry
- 3+ years of experience using statistical analysis tools and data warehouse tools
Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time
Desired Characteristics:
Prior co-brand program experience; travel vertical preferred
Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS or SQL data mining skills
Strong understanding of targeting and segmentation, retail analytic tools and advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred
Experience using external data sources to drive growth for clients
Strong marketing, creative and analytical skills
Ability to influence senior corporate decision makers
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals
Proven ability to work independently yet as key member and contributor to a broader team
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
