POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs quality and safety testing of incoming ingredients, in-process and finished products. The Quality Assurance Technician supports the quality assurance programs. Directly reports to the Quality Assurance Manager for proper direction, interpretation, and evaluation. Maintains and guarantees Balchem Corporation’s quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs inspections to company standards for all incoming raw material and packaging inspection
- Perform all positive releases for sampling and testing
- Prepare samples for analysis in outside laboratories; maintains sample inventory of raw and finished samples
- Manage sample program, document, administer and file raw materials samples
- Respond to customer and QA sample request fulfillment
- Manages and updates site’s access to corporate COA program
- Provides vendor information and support through TraceGains program
- Provides support for corporate supply chain quality team
- Manages Document control program
- Lab supply inventory and management (ATP, allergen and EV swabs)
- Manages holds program
- Observe safety and security procedures, determine appropriate action beyond guidelines, and report potentially unsafe conditions
- Monitor and maintain product quality to meet company standards; report to Manager any deviation from quality that may become a potential liability
