About the role

Summary

Work closely with Assistant Dean of Academic and Curricular Affairs to coordinate and execute program activities with a high degree of independence, with a particular focus on academic assessment, accreditation, compliance, database management, and data-informed decision-making. Serve as a subject-matter expert in assessment and accreditation processes, supporting continuous quality improvement through accurate data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination.

 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Interprets data results of increasing complexity using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Develops data collection, validation, and analysis tools to meet requirements of project.

  • Review data for consistency, accuracy, and quality.

  • Execute institutional or program activities with a high degree of independence (e.g., educational events, training, learner recruitment/interviews, orientation, schedules, and graduation).

  • Maintain proficiency in accreditation, board and/or institutional requirements.  Manage activities related to these requirements to ensure full compliance with a high degree of independence.

  • Guide the Designated Institutional Official, Program Director, Clerkship Director, Department Chair and/or other leaders on issues related to the requirements from accreditation agencies, national boards and/or affiliated institutions.

  • Serve as primary liaison with faculty, administration, other departments, affiliated institutions, outside institutions and national organizations.

  • Develop and maintain database(s) to track, schedule and record activities related to the institution, program(s) and/or learners. 

  • Serve as an expert regarding information, support and problem solving on a wide range of issues for leaders, faculty, staff and learners.

  • Coordinate recruitment of preceptors, instructors and speakers.

  • Design and create brochures, flyers, handbooks and other educational materials.

  • Coordinate assessment and evaluation activities with a high degree of independence.

  • Monitor programmatic budgets. Lead or oversee the work of support staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of technical, business, consultation, project management, and cultural awareness.

  • Knowledge of academic assessment, accreditation, and compliance processes within higher education or health professions education.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into clear, actionable reports.

  • Ability to develop, maintain, and validate data collection tools, databases, and reporting structures.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in data quality assurance, including consistency, accuracy, and documentation standards.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and data analysis functions to support assessment, reporting, and accreditation activities.

  • Excellent communication and consultation skills, with the ability to guide faculty and administrators on assessment and accreditation requirements.

  • High level of independence, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong customer focus and ability to build trust and effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

 

Qualifications 

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree  

Minimum Required Experience: 5 years of related experience 

Preferred Education: Masters in Education                 

Preferred Experience: Experience supporting academic assessment, program evaluation, and accreditation activities in higher education or health professions education, including use of assessment or accreditation systems,
